How To DIY Repair REALLY Bad Paint? | 1969 Mustang | Chemical Guys Car Care

In today's episode, you will see the journey that some of our media guys went on to bring this 1969 Mustang back to life! They drove over 1,400 miles through the mountains, hills of Seattle, plains of Oregon and desert back to Los Angeles, and got the car filthy inside and out with dirt, bugs, brake dust, fast food, spilled drinks, and sweat. In the comfort of the Detail Garage we can now thoroughly inspect the paint of this classic pony car. After washing and decontamination using a clay bar the paint still shows signs of poor washing habits and years of oxidation which will require polish to restore. Machine polishing is known as the “art of detailing.” A skilled detailer can restore paintwork by removing scratches, swirl marks, and defects from clear coat paintwork. Using a machine polisher takes many hours of training and years of practice to master the art. In this video, Nick covers the full process on how to remove swirl marks and scratches from paintwork using a rotary polisher to remove the defects, and restore the shine.
