A Closer Look at STAN, One of the Most Complete T. Rex Skeletons | Christie's

Standing 13' high and 40' long with the tail outstretched — STAN has 188 original bones and is one of the largest and most complete specimens known to exist. His skull could hold as many as 58 functioning teeth and with eyes the size of baseballs, STAN would have boasted keen vision for hunting his chosen prey. The state of the fossilized bones indicates STAN suffered a broken neck during his lifetime Andy survived and one of STAN's ribs exhibit a puncture wound that may have been inflicted by another T. rex. Come see STAN for yourself at our Rockefeller Center galleries through October 21 where he will be fully visible 24/7 through floor-to-ceiling gallery windows from the sidewalk on 49th St. between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Tyrannosaurus Rex, South Dakota, USA. Estimate: $6,000,000-8,000,000.⠀ -- Subscribe to Christie's YouTube: http://goo.gl/Vmh7Hf Sign up to Christie's Weekly: https://goo.gl/kc8qpV Follow Christie's on: Facebook: https://ift.tt/2elC9Zg Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChristiesInc Instagram: https://ift.tt/2iJ3lGm Pinterest: https://ift.tt/2elCafM
