How To Restore A Barn Find Car: Classic 1976 Corvette Stingray - Chemical Guys Car Care

There are some of us who have cars like this 1976 Corvette Stingray just sitting in the garage that have been dirty for so long. Chemical Guys shows you how to clean classic vintage cars that have not been maintained. These antique cars are one of the most difficult cars to clean and maintain because their paint is so sensitive. Nick applies his detailing knowledge in restoring this Corvette back to glory. First, we take care of the tires and wheels by using Light Metal Polish on the rim trim to restore it's shine and rid of any light scratches on it. Next, we clean the tires using All Clean to completely rid of any filth and road grime that it has gotten from the road. After truly getting it clean, we applied VRP because it's a water-based dressing that's going to give it a nice crisp sheen while also being dry-to-the-touch to prevent any sling during a drive. To top off the cleaning, we used EcoSmart to clean the interior of the rims to make it nice and vibrant with a layer of wax to protect it from heavy brake dust that this Corvette Stingray is prone to. As we've mentioned earlier, the paint of this 1976 classic is very sensitive and we don't know how well the seals are and we don't want to cause any leakage. Using a quick detail spray like Hybrid V7 is perfect to get rid of all the dust that has settled on a vintage car like this one. Hybrid V7 is perfect to remove these light layers of dust, fingerprints, bug & bird residues, etc. while adding a nice layer of shine and protection from it's sealant technology abilities.
