How to spot and avoid scam websites

Don't click links that are in the body of an email or text; find websites the 'long way round' instead via google or a verified social media account. Create multiple email addresses for different purposes. Mark spam emails as 'spam' or 'junk' rather than deleting them. Check your URL carefully for spelling errors and font tricks. Never enter card details or passwords on websites that don't have a padlock and https in the toolbar. Check that the contact and copyright information looks legitimate.
