Argos kettle challenge - Which boils quickest?

No one likes waiting for a kettle to boil, so in this episode of Challenge Wednesdays we’ve pitted two popular Argos Cookworks kettles against each other to see which one makes a round of tea the quickest. In the red corner we have the stylish Cookworks Copper Kettle which costs £30 and has a 1.7L capacity. In the blue corner it’s the Cookworks Jug kettle - cheap and cheerful at only £13, also with a 1.7L capacity. To make the challenge as fair as possible, both kettles were filled with one litre of room-temperature water and the teabags had to brew for 30 seconds. The verdict? In this instance, money really does buy you happiness, as the Copper Kettle smashed the Jug Kettle in the race to get to the boil. And rightly so, since it is more than twice the price. We hope you enjoy this video. Remember it is in no way related to our official Which? tests - these are conducted in lab conditions and scrutinise each aspect of kettles to find the most effective all-round models on the market.
