Irobot Roomba 980 vs Dyson 360 Eye - robot vacuum obstacle course challenge

In this episode of Challenge Wednesdays, we wanted to see which robot vacuum could navigate our obstacle course with the least amount of destruction, cleaning as it went. We pitted the Irobot Roomba 980 against the Dyson 360 Eye in a course containing a teetering tower of jenga, a tangle of wires and a balancing bird. We also laid out strips of lentils and glitter to see which vac was most effective at cleaning. The verdict? Overall we feel the Dyson 360 Eye won the challenge as it managed to carefully navigate the obstacle course with only one fatality - the balancing bird. It did, however, get very confused towards the end of the challenge which meant that it left a small amount of lentils and glitter unvacuumed on the floor. The Irobot Roomba seemed to be on a path of destruction, bulldozing the jenga and everything else in sight and pushing debris around the room with no regard for tidiness. It did manage to vacuum most of the lentils and glitter, but we feel it lost overall due to its navigational skills. We hope you enjoy this video.
