Airline seating: Pay up or be split up? - Which? investigates
Economy flights are billed as cheap and cheerful. So why are passengers encouraged to pay extra to reserve seats, or risk being split up? Read the full investigation into allocated airline seating at https://ift.tt/2TISaP8. An investigation by Which? Travel has found most of the popular airlines charging passengers to select a seat, try to keep groups, couples and families together on board even if they don’t pay extra for allocated seating. Ryanair doesn’t. We found the budget airline is the airplane operator most likely to separate economy class travelling companions with more than half of the Ryanair customers we spoke to, seated apart when they chose not to pay extra to reserve seats on flights.
