Dangerous child stair gates could be putting children at risk - Which? Investigates

Three child stair gates have failed Which? lab testing, meaning they could be putting children in danger. We've labelled all three baby gates Which? Don't Buys and urge parents to avoid using or buying them. The fatigue test we used rattles the child gate 10,000 times to see if it would survive being pushed and pulled by a small child. Three gates failed our testing: Dreambaby Retractable - after ten cycles the metal tubing detached from its casing. Lindham Easy Fit Plus Deluxe - after 2,570 cycles its adhesive pads became detached. Safetots Self-Closing (fitted using adhesive pads) - after 3,700 cycles its adhesive pads became detached.
