How To Fix Your Dull, Faded Paint! - Chemical Guys


Many detailing enthusiasts have wondered how do they transform dull, oxidized and faded paint from matte to a high gloss. In today's video, Nick demonstrates the best technique for restoring a factory finish. Years of neglect have caught-up to this 2002 Ford F-150, dull and chalky paint are due to a reaction caused by UV rays and harsh elements beating down on bare paint. Preventative maintenance such as a coat of sealant and/or wax would have saved this truck from years of suffering. Just because the paint no longer shines doesn't mean all hope is lost, using an abrasive compound to knock out cloudy paint will reveal a new fresh surface.
