Morphy Richards Mico toastie vs Breville Deep Fill - Sandwich Toaster Challenge

We put the new Morphy Richards Mico toastie head-to-head with the classic Breville deep fill toastie maker to see which one makes the best cheese toastie. The Mico Toastie uses new technology to convert microwaves into conventional heat, to give the toastie an oven-grilled effect, despite cooking in the microwave. Breville have been producing toastie makers since the 70s and their deep fill sandwich maker boasts Cut and Seal technology, to help shape the bread into a neat sandwich shape. The verdict? The Mico is really easy to use, and leaves barely any mess as it is completely dishwashable. The toastie was well cooked through with delicious crispy bread. The Breville leaves more mess and leaked quite a bit of cheese, but the resulting toastie was delightfully gooey and cheesy. We found no overall winner as each had their strengths and we think it’s a matter of personal taste.
